The Stamp Printer COURVOISIER

The Courvoisier company from Switzerland closed down in 2001 and the assets were bought by Walsall Print Group. We know Courvoisier from the stamps they printed. The archives were sold and now some items are showing up at different auction houses. Here is the link to one, Caphila.

We have seen it in the past from Waterlow & Sons (the Cuban 1951 issue), but also from Format International Security Printers Ltd from England (the Tanzania 1986 issue) and others.

Below are some items that went to auction at a French auctioneer in December 2009. Remarkable items, but are you willing to take on another mortgage on your house.

1,2,3) 20,000.- euro as a start for: Yougoslavie, Yvert 549/53, série de 21 non dentelé + 18 essais non dentelé sur 3 pages officielles des archives Couvoisier N° 62/64, (Seule série conservé: Championnats du monde d'échecs 1950 . Unique. La plus rare des série du th? des échecs.

4) 15,000.- euro as a start for: Yougoslavie, Yvert 549/53, non ?s tirage unicolore, non dentelé seule série conservé par l'imprimerie Couvoisier), sur feuille officielle N° 61 des archives plus rare des série du th? des échecs.

5,6) 5,000.- euro as a start for: 38, 2 blocs non dentelé (1 bloc sans valeur faciale) + 6 blocs essais de couleurs successives, sur 2 feuilles officielles N° 2193 - 45/a, b des archives Courvoisier, (Une seule série conservé 29e olympiade d'ECHECS 1990. (Unique - Certificat).

7) 3,500.- euro as a start for: 1366/67, paire non dentelé + 6 essais d'impression sur feuille officielle N° 1278 des archives Courvoisier, (Une seule série conservé: ECHECS 1972. (Unique)
